Celebrates National Nurses Week May 6-12
2018 Nurses Week theme is “Nursing: Inspire, Innovate. Influence”

           

            Syracuse, NY-The Department of Veterans Affairs, the nation’s largest single employer of nurses, joined the American Nurses Association in honoring America’s nurses dedicated to saving lives and maintaining the health of millions of individuals, including our nation’s heroes, during National Nurses Week, May 6-12.

         

The Syracuse VA honored the many roles nurses play in delivering the highest level of quality care to our Veterans and their families at a Nurses Excellence Award Ceremony Thursday, May 11th. .

 

Syracuse VA Medical Center honored for their extraordinary care for our Veterans   were:

RN                                          Jacqueline Dardano, BVAC

RN in an Expanded Role            Heather Caron, BVAC

LPN                                         Ellen Comer, Binghamton CBOC

Health Care Technician              Joe Jachim, SPS      

 

Nurse Executive Cheryl Czajkowski said, “Every year the VA hosts these awards to recognize the outstanding work of VA staff that play a vital role in providing and supporting nursing practice and care to our Veterans. This year’s awardees are honored for their compassionate care, contributions, improvements in nursing and support for expanding nursing responsibilities.”
