Syracuse, NY-The public is invited to attend the Syracuse VA Medical Center’s Awards Ceremony for the 20th Annual Creative Arts Competition and Exhibition March 3rd. This year’s event will be held in the Auditorium on the ground floor of the Medical Center from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm.

Veteran artists from throughout Central New York have entered more than 100 of their works in categories including music, dance, drama, creative writing, fine arts, applied arts, kit projects, leather goods, wood projects and crafts. As part of the event, there will be musical performances which will begin at 11:30 am, with the awards presentation beginning at 12:30 pm.

According to VA Lead Recreational Therapist, Suzanne Hawes, “This is a contest where everyone comes out a winner. It’s an opportunity to display one’s talents, a chance to be recognized and, for many patients, a constructive way to promote the healing process”.

Parking is available in the Medical Center garage. For further information on how to enter fine arts, applied arts, and performing arts please contact Suzanne Hawes at 315-425-4400-ext. 52589 by 2/29. More information on The National VA Creative Arts programs can be found at
